BUILD Well™ Launches the 1% Challenge

Stephen H. Watkins

Entrex (OTC:NTRX) (OTCQB:NTRX)

TAMPA, FL, UNITED STATES, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Entrex (OTC: NTRX) today announced that BUILD Well™, its natural-gas-powered digital infrastructure deployment initiative, has launched the 1% Challenge, an effort encouraging U.S. natural-gas producers to identify stranded, curtailed, vented or flared gas resources that could potentially support distributed data-center infrastructure.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, U.S. operators vented and flared approximately 335 billion cubic feet of natural gas in 2024. Just 1% represents approximately 3.35 billion cubic feet annually, enough, based on Entrex’s operating model, to support approximately 200 BUILD Well™ mobile data-center deployments.

“We’re not asking America’s natural-gas industry to solve 100% of the problem. We’re asking what we could accomplish with 1%,” said Stephen H. Watkins, Chairman and CEO of Entrex. “Put underutilized gas to productive use, create infrastructure around it, and give American skilled-trade students experience building something real.”

BUILD Well™ is designed to connect underutilized natural gas with standardized mobile data-center infrastructure supporting Bitcoin and AI/data-processing applications. The initiative is connected to Entrex’s broader BUILD workforce strategy and the nonprofit BUILD Vocational Workforce Foundation (www.Entrex.net/BUILD), through which vocational students can gain paid, hands-on experience in fabrication, electrical systems, HVAC, controls, networking and commissioning. The BUILD program was created around the principle that students should not simply study data-center infrastructure, they should help build it.

The 1% Challenge asks producers to begin with something practical: identify a single well, site or gas stream that may warrant evaluation. BUILD Well can then examine available gas volume, pressure, heat content and other operating characteristics to determine whether a potential deployment merits further technical and economic review.

“One percent is deliberately a modest challenge,” Watkins continued. “But 1% of a very large number can become meaningful infrastructure, meaningful economic activity and meaningful American workforce experience.”

Each potential BUILD Well deployment is intended to combine two outcomes: productive digital infrastructure and experienced American tradespeople, the same dual-purpose concept introduced in the BUILD Well program.
“Let’s Try Just One Well Together.” Natural-gas producers interested in having a potential site reviewed may contact Matt Henderson at MHenderson@entrex.net.
