Pikeville Man Charged with Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Kidnapping
BLEDSOE COUNTY – A joint investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Pikeville Police Department has resulted in the arrest of a Pikeville man in connection to a kidnapping and assault.
On Friday, at the request of 12th Judicial District Attorney General Courtney Lynch, TBI agents began investigating an alleged kidnapping and assault that occurred in the 100 block of Southgate Lane in Pikeville. Through the course of the investigation, agents collected evidence that Andy Bickford (DOB 2/9/1976) assaulted the victim and held her against her will for multiple days.
Investigators took Bickford into custody Friday night, charging him with one count of Aggravated Assault and one count of Aggravated Kidnapping. Bickford was booked into the Bledsoe County Jail.
The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct, not evidence. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.
